M: When did you first discover your love for baking?
B: I grew up in a house where my mother baked cookies, cakes, and homemade cinnamon rolls. To me, baking always equaled love and home.
M: What first inspired you to begin your blog, Bake at 350?
B: I started Bake at 350 in 2007 to share how to decorate cookies...mainly with family and friends. I learned the process through trial and error and thought it would be fun to share the tips I had picked up along the way.
M: We understand that cookies are your specialty! Do you have a favorite cookie recipe?
B: My vanilla-almond cut-out cookies are my go-to cookies...they're perfect for cookie decorating: sturdy, but not crispy.
M: Other than cookies, any other unique recipes of late that we have to check out?
B: My blog is mainly about sweets, but every once in a while, a little something savory sneaks in. Last fall, I made homemade mayo for the first time (because I was too lazy to go to the store), and felt like a rock star.
M: Have you ever had any baking disasters?
B: Oh, of course! If you've ever seen those Pinterest "nailed it" moments online, I definitely had one last year with a Halloween baking project.
M: Do you have any advice for eager bakers out there?
B: My advice is that perfection is overrated. We're inundated with beautiful food images in magazines, blogs, and Pinterest, but baking doesn't have to lead to something gorgeous. I always tell people, "it's just a cookie!" Have fun in the kitchen, share with your friends and neighbors, bake with love.

Bring forth the Bakers!
Who says the holidays are the only time you can bake?
One of my favorite pastimes lies in the deliciously amusing craft of baking.
The next time you come home from work in the evening or wake up on a Sunday morning with time to spare, pull out your favorite cookie recipe and unleash your creativity. Whether you’re baking for your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, or just for yourself, I find that baking is one of the best anti-stress activities (provided that your cookies don’t go up in flames—try the oven timer) to take your mind off your busy week and focus on something casual and delicious. Baking is a wonderful way to bring love wafting through your home, and to deliver joy to all those who would indulge.
The secret to great baking is in a great recipe of course! Upon browsing the depths of Tumblr and Pinterest, and gawking at mouth watering photos of desserts, there are a handful of beautiful online baking blogs upon which I have stumbled and through which I browse weekly. One of my favorites is Bake at 350, which is one of the first that I discovered and am excited to share with you today. Although, Bake at 350 is focused on desserts, specifically cookies, there is a wide variety of sweet and savory for every palate. I was fortunate enough to get in contact with Bridget, the creative head behind this beautiful collection of recipes, so that I could ask her a few questions:

For any of you who are avid cookie bakers (or perhaps are looking for a cookie decorating Bible of sorts) we also recommend Bridget’s book on decorating cookies, which contains everything you need to know.
Now get your butts in the kitchen, get creative and, just as Bridget says, “bake with love.”
